At the Lido

These paintings catch the swimmer unawares, negotiating the alien medium of water. Each swimmer's relationship with the water demands unique approaches and techniques. Sometimes the paint is thinly applied to capture light patterns, at other times thicker impasto strokes show the movement of the water and swimmer.

A project that started with a series of works on board have expanded to include watercolours and lately etching.
